The Biblical Psalms reflect the diverse human emotions we all have in an honest and sometimes very direct way, yet how do we approach some of the more aggressive language from the distant culture in which it was written? Some of the Psalms are ‘Messianic’, that is, they are prophetically looking forward to the advent of the Christ. Most, if not all, of the Psalms can have a profound application and effect on our lives.
In this book, I have sought to make the Psalms very personal. These Personalized Psalms are intended to be used as personal reflections to aid applying the Psalms to our lives in the 21st Century. They have been written from the perspective of this side of the cross of Jesus Christ and the hindsight of the New Testament. You will find prayers, songs, prophetic declarations, wisdom, comfort and much more. Above all, you will find your love for God increase and at times spontaneous praise arising from deep within.
This book is not a translation or even a paraphrase of the Biblical Psalms. Mike has not tried to interpret anything in the light of the original Hebrew text. These are personalized psalms, based on the truths of the Psalms.
